Is it too early to expect a team to play fundamentally sound baseall? I don't think so.

The Indians left the bases loaded in the first and had men on first and second in the 5th with no outs. They never even advanced the runners.

Zero outs. Guess what that means? How about a sacrifice bunt. How about a sacrifice fly? Move the freaking runners over. This is exactly why the team did not make the playoffs last year. They cannot move a runner over.
