An eight-month probe uncovers evidence that Reggie Bush and his family appear to have accepted improper benefits from prospective agents while at USC. The benefits, which could lead to NCAA sanctions for USC and retroactively cost Bush his college eligibility and Heisman.
This is a huge freaking deal. If USC loses it's championship and Bush loses his Heisman, that will be the biggest NCAA sanction I've ever seen.
Even though it's stupid, this is the NCAA we're talking about... what if the NCAA decides that Matt Leinart's Heisman is suspect too because Bush was on the team? I personally don't think that anything should be done to USC in this case. It seems to me that they didn't know anything about his activities, and when they learned of possible problems, they made rule changes to handle it. I do think it's very possible that Bush will be stripped of his Heisman, which is just plain stupid. He was without question the best and most exciting player in football last year whether he talked to an agent or not.
